Electrician

Learn what is required to install, maintain and repair electrical equipment, the INTEC way! The law allows only qualified electricians to perform important tasks such as connecting cables to electrical motors and handling the electrical wiring of buildings.

After you successfully pass Electrician NTC 2 and the Practical Trade Test, you must serve for at least 18 months in the field in order to become a qualified electrician. The theory provided in INTEC’s Electrician NTC material will prepare you for this practical component of your training and empower you to get maximum value from your day-to-day experiences in the trade.

By successfully completing Electrician NTC 3, you put yourself on the road to becoming an artisan. You then have the choice of becoming an electrical technician by going on to complete NTC 4, NTC 5 and NTC 6.

Installation Electrician

Acquire the skills that will allow you to be responsible for installing wiring, control equipment and switchboards according to safety regulations. Get involved in planning installations and accurately selecting the necessary cables, conductors and protective devices.

There is a constant demand for the services of installation electricians in a country where electrical usage in industrial, commercial and housing markets continues to grow annually.

In order to enter this course, you must first become a qualified electrician. You can then complete your N3 by adding the following subject:

By successfully completing this course, you acquire a Wireman’s License, which will enable you to sign off electrical plans for building installations.

Auto Electrician

Learn to manufacture, install and repair electrical systems, equipment and accessories for motor vehicles. This course will teach you to work with items such as starter mechanisms, lights, indicators, electrical windows and car radios. Advanced modern equipment means that there is plenty of opportunity for you to progress to more specialised training in the diagnosis of electrical defects.
